
Saudi Arabia’s authorities announced discovering 14 new oil and natural gas fields and reservoirs in the Eastern Province and the Empty Quarter, local media reported.
Minister of Energy Abdulaziz bin Salman on Wednesday said that 14 Arabian oil and natural gas sources and reservoirs were found by Saudi Aramco in the Eastern Province and the Empty Quarter. Two fields and four natural gas reservoirs, as well as six fields and two reservoirs of Arabian oil, are among the finds.
In addition to congratulating King Salman, Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, and Crown Prince and Prime Minister Mohammed bin Salman on these findings, the minister wished Saudi Arabia and its citizens ongoing progress, prosperity, and expansion.
Following the flow of Arabian Extra Light Oil in the Jabu-1 well at a rate of 800 barrels per day (bpd), Prince Abdulaziz declared that the Jabu oil field had been found in the Eastern Province.
Prince Abdulaziz emphasized the value addition that these discoveries provide, reaffirming the Kingdom’s dominant position in the world energy market and bolstering its abundant hydrocarbon resources. He termed the findings will increase the Kingdom’s capacity to effectively and sustainably fulfill its own and the world’s energy needs for many years to come, as well as open up new avenues for its economic growth.
“These discoveries will also support sustained economic growth and prosperity, in line with Vision 2030 and Saudi Arabia’s ambitious goals to fully harness its natural resources and enhance global energy security,” the minister added.
